The Set NYC Hosts Exciting Fashion Event Benefitting Charity During New York Fashion Week

Nestled in the city that never sleeps, and wedged in between New York Fashion Week and Valentines Day is a fashion event that manages to incorporate these institutions into an energetic and unique production.

The Set NYC is a Manhattan based Event and Production Company that consistently delivers a unique experience for the creatives of the world, be it emerging brands, indie musicians, abstract artists, even talent scouts and the general public.

On February 13th, 2014 The Set NYC plays host to an immense fashion event with an even more immense heart. Located at the Holy Apostles Ballroom in the Chelsea District, a portion of The Set NYC’s New York Fashion Week runway show and pop-up shop’s proceeds will directly benefit victims of child sex-trafficking. But this charity event is a far cry from the typical charity function. No room full of black-ties, no silent auctions and certainly no golf claps.

In lieu of these staid charity characteristics, The Set NYC will feature DJ Joe Terra pumping house music through the speakers, music from Amanda Badze, art from Gylliayn, and a Valentine’s Day menu from Noel’s Kitchen.

As if this isn’t enticing enough, the “so cheap it’s almost like you’re robbing them blind” $10 cover includes access to a runway show from 6:30-9PM showcasing the top independent New York City designers, and an after party pop-up shop from 9PM-midnight. The pop-up store focuses on Yossi for Kevin Shahroozi designs. After their runway presentation, Yossi Shetrit and Kevin Shahroozi will be on hand to give guests exclusive access to be the first to purchase their new leather trousers.

MC’ing the event is actor Evan McKay (The Americans) with special VIP guest appearances from designer Phil Harris, designer Clavon Leonard and model Eva Bruno.

Designers set to unveil their collections during The Set NYC’s New York Fashion Week benefit include:

Kristin Costa: having worked on projects including Ugly Betty, Disney’s Enchanted, wings for Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show and Norwegian Cruise Lines, Costa is busy at work designing for her own collection.
