This Storefront-Powered Facebook Pop-Up Event Is Making Waves in London

Pop-up stores are not only for retail giants and e-commerce brands; there’s a whole wave of pop-up stores emerging in other industries like tech and media. Storefront has popped up with tech giants like Google, and is now hosting Facebook in one of its spaces on Carnaby St. in London.

The It’s Your Facebook pop-up store

As a way to get in front of its users and address growing user concerns over data and privacy, Facebook has opened a pop-up store on this high-traffic street to directly talk to customers about how Facebook works and how data is protected.

This free pop-up store, creatively executed by the Smyle Creative Agency in London, marks Facebook’s dedication to data privacy regulation, and opens Friday, September 14th through Sunday, September 16th. Pop-up stores are a unique concept that gives brands and companies alike the ability to rent a space in short-term, for things like product launches, collaborations, and even buzzy events such as this one.

Behind the Facebook pop-up store concept

As an informational event, the team wanted a “space where people can come down and talk to us directly and ask the questions they want, on the topics that matter most to them”. The team encourages anyone in the area to come inside and talk about things like Facebook’s privacy tools and controls and how to build the best Facebook experience.

The Storefront-powered space is located on Carnaby St, London W1F 9PB – a globally renowned retail street full of many local independent brands as well as well-known retailers. With over 14 retail streets, over 100 shops and more than 60 independent cafes, restaurants, bars and pubs, Storefront has worked with many brands to pop up in the area on short-term concepts.
